I'm so happy to welcome you to my official player site and blog. Let me be the first to thank you for visiting my site and subscribing to all the content and updates I have coming up for the pool enthusiast, fan, and people interested in information on all the training materials, suggestions, equipment and gear I'll be covering as the blog grows.
I must say I'm really excited about everything that this site will be and over the next few weeks and months you'll be able to see more and more of what Linares Pro Pool will do to serve the community at large.
If you don't know who I am, my name is Raymond Linares. I'm a 4 x National Champion from South Florida who loves pool, competing with the best players in the game and sharing knowledge and information with those looking to improve. I currently have 3 ACUI Collegiate National Titles which is tied for most all time, and 1 US Amateur Championship title. I'm locally based in Miami FL and compete regularly in the state on the Florida Pool Tour.
Linares Pro Pool has been a project I've had in the works now for about a year and it came to mind when I began asking myself a very important question. How can I add more value to the relationship I have with my sponsors, provide a professional venue for people to view my work and competitive journey, and also give myself an opportunity to attract new sponsors and connect with more people.
Through this blog I plan on doing just that. Creating more value for my sponsors than they do for me. Now that is a difficult challenge to undertake as they've been more than gracious and helpful to me in the past in supporting my competitve career. But understanding that if things are going to go to the next level for everyone then certaing paradigms need to shift and more work needs to be done. As such, I plan on closing the circle of the sponsor-player relationship by providing immense value for them and people who are interested in their products but are hesitant to purchase without making more informed decisions.

I think it's important to note from an ethics standpoint at this point that you'll never see me promoting a product I don't believe in wholeheartedly. My Sponsors today became so because I was an avid user of their equipment first. I grew to love everything about their products and they became the foundation of my competitive play on a day to day basis. As I began to experience success in the competitive arena, they began to formally ask me to promote their equipment, which I was more than glad to do because I was already doing so! This is important because I consistently get emails, text messages or pm's on Facebook asking my opinion on certain equipment, training methods, systems, tips, cases, mental approaches to the game, you name it. As a player who understands how important those decisions are with respect to development, confidence and overall success, I can never in good conscience lead someone to believe in something that I myself don't fully believe in and support in my own play.
Ultimately I want this to serve as a place where people can track my competitive play, see and utilize my take on equipment and training to better their own pool experience, and finally give people a clear and concise vision of who my sponsors are, why they're so amazing, and when possible give them the best possible price for their products on the market.
If you do purchase from Linares Pro Pool, how will your purchases affect my sponsors and me?
Some of my sponsors have agreed to enable me as a sponsored player with dealer access to pricing. Others have setup an affilliate program with me that directs your purchases to their accounts directly and keeps track of where it's coming from online.
So your purchases here will help further my sponsors through your financial support, but also a small percentage of your purchase will be allocated to fund my own future competitive dreams and aspirations as a player. More on that in a future post :).
A small percentage of your purchases will also go towards funding the operational costs of the site, maintenance and of course the production and editing of new insightful reviews. Linares Pro Pool will also be giving back to members of the pool community over time as we become more able to help and grow the sport.
